Meet Bucky Johnson

The last 20 years of my career were spent at Georgia Tech where I was Director of Bands and the Chair of Music Department.  I was the Founder and Director of the Atlanta Olympic Band from 1992-1996. Currently, Janet and I work at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in the music ministry and own the Six Flags Over Georgia Southern Star Music Festival.

Janet and I are natives of Atlanta and have lived in the metro area all of our lives. We have two sons, Manny, recently married and Wes, a junior at Kennesaw State. Janet and I graduated from the University of Georgia with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education. We are both fully devoted to serving this community and look forward to meeting you and discussing our heart for the city.
